The Art of Effective Meetings
Guest Speaker Donna Mitchell
We have an exciting program! Our guest speaker and Professional Registered Parliamentarian, Donna Mitchell, will talk about having an effective meeting. The three takeaways are as follows:
- You will learn what is needed to prepare for a meeting.
- You will understand how to process a motion.
- You will learn the common voting options and how to apply them.
Donna Mitchell, PRP has been a member of the National Association of
Parliamentarians(NAP) and Texas State Association of Parliamentarians
(TSAP) since 2016. She currently serves as the TSAP 1st Vice
President/Extension chair and is a member of the Flonnie Mae Larimer
Parliamentary Unit. Donna was an instrumental team member of the
special committee for the TSAP website reconstruction, and also has served
as the TSAP 3
rd Vice President and Recording Secretary. Her contributions
extend to various TSAP committees: strategic planning, procedure
handbook, membership and publicity. She is also a District 6 team member, president of the Betty S. Green
Chapter AIP unit and affiliate member of the Green Gavel Electronic Unit
and Bayshore Unit. Donna is the immediate past president of the Flonnie
Mae Larimer Parliamentary unit and has served in the roles of unit secretary
and treasurer. She is well known for her parliamentary membership
training classes and enjoys providing consultation to organizations and
individuals. You can find Donna serving as a judge for FCCLA and HOSA youth
organizations as she is an avid supporter of students learning parliamentary
procedure and enhancing their leadership skills. She also thrives in several
key areas of leadership within other professional organizations where she
upholds parliamentary procedure. Her willingness to serve others and
encourage them to always strive for excellence is an attribute that she is
proud of.
